Online Meeting Scheduling Recommendation

Hello everyone,

I wanted to let you know about a great service we discovered a couple of months ago…it’s called Tungle.com and it makes scheduling a meeting with a few people a snap. In the interest of full disclosure I have no financial interest in Tungle.com, I just think it’s a great Web application. And it’s free.

Have you ever been frustrated trying to coordinate a meeting with a few busy people? One person can make it on some days, others on other days and getting the meeting scheduled involves a lot of email or phone calls that waste a lot of time. Tungle solves all that.

So here’s how it works: You, as the meeting organizer need to set up a Tungle account. You then name the meeting, mark the days and times you can do, and send the meeting request to the other attendees via email from Tungle. The attendees receive an email with a link to Tungle – when they follow the link, they indicate all the days and times they can attend in the context of the available slots. Each time a person follows the links and responds the available times narrow, so there’s a clear advantage to respond quickly. By the way, each attendee does not need to sign up for a Tungle account, they just respond by following the link provided in the email. When the last person responds the meeting organizer is notified and you can schedule the meeting.

I’ve used it and it’s a great solution for scheduling meetings for my Taproot team, our internal virtual team and even for things like bookclubs and such. There’s even an Outlook plug-in to help you select available times in their calendar, without expositing your calendar to the other attendees.

Check it out at http://www.tungle.com
